Uttar Pradesh Implements Strict Identity Verification: CM Yogi Adityanath's Push for Security and Social Balance

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has launched a comprehensive initiative requiring thorough identity verification before employment, targeting illegal immigrants to protect state security and welfare resources. Following Supreme Court observations on infiltrators, the state government is conducting document verification drives and establishing detention centers across administrative divisions to manage identified unauthorized residents.

Verify Identity Before Hiring: Yogi Adityanath Urges UP Residents

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has called upon residents to conduct thorough identity verification before employing individuals, emphasizing the state's commitment to rigorous action against illegal immigrants.

Speaking from Lucknow, the Chief Minister highlighted that these measures aim to protect security and maintain social equilibrium across Uttar Pradesh. His statement follows a sweeping operation against suspected infiltrators that began last week under his directive.

In a message shared on the social platform X, Adityanath referenced a significant Supreme Court observation, stating, "The honourable Supreme Court has made an extremely important remark during a hearing that a red carpet cannot be laid out for infiltrators. This makes it clear that infiltrators are not acceptable at any cost."

He emphasized that national resources are intended for citizens, not illegal immigrants, while reiterating that maintaining security, social balance, and robust law enforcement remains his administration's foremost priority.

On December 2, the Supreme Court raised pointed questions about the legal status of Rohingyas in India. A bench led by Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi questioned whether "intruders" deserved a "red carpet welcome" while many Indian citizens continue to face poverty. These comments emerged during proceedings for a habeas corpus petition filed by a rights activist concerning allegedly missing Rohingyas from Delhi authorities' custody.

The Chief Minister urged public vigilance, stressing that proper identity verification before hiring is essential. "The security of the state is our collective responsibility because security is the foundation of prosperity," he declared.

Adityanath revealed that a comprehensive initiative has been launched to address Rohingya and Bangladeshi nationals residing illegally in Uttar Pradesh. All urban local bodies have received instructions to identify suspected foreign nationals and compile detailed records.

He further stated that benefits designed for disadvantaged populations under welfare schemes must be protected from misappropriation. "For this purpose, a special document verification drive is being conducted and infiltrators are being identified and sent to detention centres for further action," the Chief Minister explained.

To facilitate this process, detention facilities are being established in each administrative division of the state, according to Adityanath.
