A tragic incident occurred in Madhya Pradesh's Raisen district when a 25-year-old man fell from a 50-foot bridge while recording content for social media on his mobile phone, according to police reports released Wednesday.
The fatal accident happened Tuesday evening between Chilli-Silaari and Noornagar villages along the Jaipur-Jabalpur National Highway 45, approximately 110 km from the district headquarters, within the jurisdiction of Udaypura police station.
Station in-charge Jaywant Singh Kakodia identified the victim as Madan Nooriya, a resident of Noornagar who was employed at a nearby dhaba.
According to officials, Nooriya was capturing sunset photos and videos on the bridge to share on social media platforms when he lost his balance and fell.
"His backbone was broken, and he suffered severe head injuries rendering him unconscious. Staff from the eatery rushed him to a hospital in Udaypura while he was covered in blood, but doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival," the police official stated.
Kakodia confirmed that authorities examined Nooriya's mobile phone, which contained evidence he was recording content at the time of the incident. The phone even captured footage of the fatal fall.
Police have registered a case, performed a post-mortem examination Wednesday morning, and released the body to the victim's family.
This marks the third such death in Raisen district this year. Previously, two young people from Bhopal drowned while creating social media content at Halali dam near Salamatpur. In another incident near Sehatganj, a young woman from Bhopal died after slipping from rocks and falling into Mahadev waterfall while filming content.
