Mathura:
In a tragic incident in Mathura's Revtipuram area, a 45-year-old woman, identified as Manju Devi, the wife of an Army personnel, allegedly took her own life by hanging herself at her residence on Tuesday evening, according to police reports released Wednesday.
The incident occurred while her husband was away on duty. Reports indicate that Manju allegedly had a verbal altercation with other family members before the tragic event unfolded.
Circle Officer (City) Anil Kaparwan provided details, stating, "Manju Devi, residing in Revtipuram Colony, was at home with other family members while her husband was serving in the Army elsewhere. Following a verbal dispute, she locked herself inside a room and hanged herself."
Family members became concerned when Manju did not emerge from the room for an extended period. Upon checking through the window, they discovered her hanging and immediately alerted the police.
Officer Kaparwan further explained, "Police officials forced entry into the room, recovered the body, and arranged for it to be sent for post-mortem examination."
Initial investigations point to suicide, according to the police. "No formal written complaint has been filed by the family thus far. Appropriate action will be initiated if any complaint is submitted," the officer added.
