Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Sunday that Zubeen will receive full state honours at his cremation ceremony scheduled for Tuesday (Sept 23).

"We have decided to cremate the legendary singer Zubeen Garg on September 23, close to Disang resort in Sonapur. Many people are still coming to pay their homage to their beloved Zubeen Garg," Mr Sarma stated.

The state government initially declared three days of mourning until September 22, but has extended this period by an additional day to accommodate his cremation ceremony.
