New Delhi:

Police report that a four-year-old boy was allegedly abducted and fatally attacked with a stone by a teenage neighbor seeking revenge in the Anand Parbat area of central Delhi.

The child disappeared on Friday after he went outside to play in the Baljeet Nagar vicinity near his residence following his return from tuition classes, according to police statements.

The boy's mother filed a missing person report at the Anand Parbat Police Station.

"While investigating, authorities examined CCTV footage from the neighborhood and observed the boy with a neighbor, later determined to be a 15-year-old who had dropped out of school. The teenager was subsequently detained at his home," explained an officer.

During questioning, the teenager revealed that both families resided as tenants in the same building and had experienced previous conflicts, police said.

On Friday afternoon, the teen had taken his landlord's motorcycle and left it in another area. When the victim's mother informed the landlord about this, the teenager's father reprimanded and physically disciplined him. In retaliation, the teenager decided to harm the younger boy, the officer stated.

Around 6:30 pm, the juvenile enticed the child to an isolated area in Ramjas Park, where he pushed him from a 30-foot cliff. He then struck the child's head with a stone.

The boy survived initially and was discovered in critical condition. He was urgently transported to Lady Hardinge Medical College Hospital and subsequently transferred to Kalawati Saran Hospital, where he remained under intensive care for two days before succumbing to his injuries, according to the officer.

The community remains tense following the killing.

Numerous local residents gathered when the boy's father brought his body to the Anand Parbat Police Station, demanding justice.

The teenage perpetrator, a resident of Taliwalan Basti who dropped out after class 10, has been placed in a correctional facility. His father operates a sweets shop in the neighborhood, police confirmed.
