US President Donald Trump has once again stirred controversy with his remarks toward female journalists, calling one "stupid" during a press interaction at his Florida estate on Thursday.

The incident occurred as Trump was addressing questions about the vetting of Afghan refugees in the United States. When a female reporter inquired why he blamed President Joe Biden for issues related to Afghan resettlement, particularly when some members of his own administration had stated that these refugees underwent thorough vetting processes, Trump abruptly cut her off.

"Are you stupid? Are you a stupid person?" Trump responded sharply before dismissing her question.

The context of the exchange involved a recent incident where two National Guard soldiers were shot near the White House on Wednesday. The alleged perpetrator was reportedly an Afghan national who entered the country following the US military withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021.

Trump defended his criticism of the Biden administration by holding up an image of a US military aircraft filled with Afghan evacuees, stating, "Because they let them in," in reference to the current administration's policies. He continued his rebuke, claiming these evacuees came "along with thousands of other people that shouldn't be here, and you're just asking questions because you're a stupid person."

This latest incident adds to a pattern of verbal attacks directed particularly at women journalists. Just a day earlier, Trump had criticized a New York Times reporter, calling the female author "ugly" after she published an article discussing his age and signs of fatigue.

Earlier in the month, Trump referred to another woman journalist as "piggy" and described yet another as "a terrible person."
