Usha Vance Addresses Wedding Ring Speculation: "Mother of Three" Explanation Sparks Online Debate

Social media speculation erupted this week when photographs emerged showing US Second Lady Usha Vance without her wedding ring at a public event, prompting questions about her marriage to Vice President JD Vance.

The 39-year-old Second Lady accompanied First Lady Melania Trump during a visit to Camp Lejeune, a significant military base in North Carolina on Wednesday. After images from the event circulated online revealing Usha's ringless finger, internet speculation quickly intensified.

One X user commented, "Interesting. Usha Vance minus a wedding ring yesterday at Camp Lejeune," while another observed, "Usha Vance was not wearing her wedding ring and seemed quite happy."

In response to the growing rumors, a spokesperson for Usha Vance offered a straightforward explanation to People Magazine: "[Usha] is a mother of three young children, who does a lot of dishes, gives lots of baths, and forgets her ring sometimes."

This explanation prompted its own wave of reactions online, with one user questioning, "WHAT! Their excuse for Usha Vance not having her wedding ring is she 'does a lot of dishes' as if they are doing them themselves," while another asked, "She doesn't have a dishwasher?"

Usha and JD Vance have been married since 2014 and parent three children together.

Adding to public conversation about the Vance marriage, JD recently made comments about religious differences in their household. When asked about raising children with his Catholic faith while Usha practices Hinduism, he acknowledged they decided to raise their children Christian and expressed hope that his wife might eventually convert.

"Do I hope, eventually, that she is somehow moved by the same thing that I was moved in by church? Yeah, honestly, I do wish that, because I believe in the Christian gospel and I hope eventually my wife comes to see it the same way. But if she doesn't, then God says everybody has free will and so that doesn't cause a problem for me."
