Israeli Hostage Guy Gilboa Dalal Reveals Sexual Assault During Two-Year Hamas Captivity

Guy Gilboa Dalal, released from Hamas captivity on October 10, has come forward as the first male hostage to publicly disclose sexual assault during his time in Gaza.

In an upcoming interview with Israeli broadcaster Channel 12 scheduled to air Friday, the 24-year-old described the traumatic experience he endured while in captivity for over two years.

"After allowing me to shower, he pulled me from the bathroom and prevented me from getting dressed," Gilboa-Dalal recounted. "He then forced me into their room and pushed me onto an armchair."

He continued, "As he began touching me all over my body, I froze completely. I attempted to reason with him, saying 'This is forbidden in Islam, are you joking?' He responded by holding a rifle to my head and a knife to my throat, threatening to kill me if I told anyone."

When asked if this was an isolated incident, Gilboa-Dalal confirmed it was not, though he declined to provide further details.

Gilboa-Dalal was abducted with his friend Evyatar David from the Nova music festival during Hamas's attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, which ignited the Gaza war. Both appeared in a Hamas video in February 2025, where they were shown watching hostage release ceremonies from inside a vehicle, pleading for their freedom.

The ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel, effective October 10, led to the release of Gilboa-Dalal and 19 other surviving hostages. Both Gilboa-Dalal and David were freed on October 13.

This disclosure follows Amit Soussana's March 2024 interview with The New York Times, where she became the first hostage to publicly testify about sexual abuse by a captor.

Israeli government spokeswoman Shosh Bedrosian addressed journalists Thursday, stating: "The courageous testimonies of our released living hostages are painstaking and heartbreaking to hear, but they shed light on the wickedness our people endured for two years in hell in Hamas captivity."
