Elon Musk's Reconciliation with Trump: A 'Thank You' Note Following White House Dinner

Elon Musk attended the White House gathering several months following his tenure as the head of DOGE.

After experiencing a significant falling out, US President Donald Trump and Elon Musk appear to have reconciled their relationship when the Republican leader invited the billionaire entrepreneur to the White House for dinner with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman. During his business-focused address at the event, Trump acknowledged Musk not once but three separate times.

"You are so lucky I am with you, Elon," the Republican leader remarked while highlighting new tax-bill deductions for domestically produced vehicles.

He then quipped, "Has he ever thanked me properly?"

The Tesla CEO subsequently did express gratitude to Trump for his contributions to "America and the world."

"I would like to thank President Trump for all he has done for America and the world," Musk posted on X, alongside images of himself standing with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang and Trump at the US-Saudi Investment Forum in Washington, DC.

Musk's appearance at the White House event came months after his role as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). He occupied this position from January until May 30, when Trump announced Musk would be departing once his special government employee contract concluded.

Days following his departure, Musk, whom Trump had previously referred to as his 'first buddy,' revealed his genuine sentiments regarding the president's agenda and budget plans with the "Big Beautiful Bill," a massive government spending proposal.

Reunion Celebration?

According to reporting by The New York Times, Musk's associates are organizing a significant celebration to commemorate the billionaire's time working alongside Trump. The report indicated that numerous individuals who worked under Musk in the so-called Department of Government Efficiency will convene in Austin this weekend for a reunion gathering.

Musk himself is also anticipated to attend the event, though his plans might still change, the publication noted, citing a source.

The two-day festivities will take place at an upscale hotel where Musk frequently stays in a suite and are being coordinated by DOGE leaders, the report added.
