X Down For Thousands Globally, Users Report Error Loading Posts

On Tuesday, thousands of users worldwide experienced an outage on Elon Musk's microblogging platform X, according to reports from Downdetector.com.

The issue wasn't isolated to X (previously known as Twitter) alone. Many other websites utilizing Cloudflare's internet infrastructure encountered similar problems during the same period.

Down Detector, which monitors outages by collecting status reports from various sources, indicated that over ten thousand users reported the service disruption around 5:20 pm.

Users reported multiple issues including problems with their feeds, website access, login capabilities, and server connections. Most encountered an "internal server error on Cloudflare's network" message, which prompted them to try again later.

In its initial statement, Cloudflare acknowledged they were "aware of, and investigating an issue which potentially impacts multiple customers," though they provided no specific cause or estimated resolution timeframe.

Cloudflare further stated, "We are working to understand the full impact and mitigate this problem. More updates to follow shortly."

This isn't the first significant outage for the platform this year. In May, X experienced another major disruption when thousands of users were unable to access the service for several hours. At that time, Elon Musk claimed the outage resulted from a powerful cyberattack that involved "a lot of resources," suggesting potential involvement from a large organization or possibly even a state actor.
