United Kingdom:

On Friday, MI6, the United Kingdom's foreign intelligence service, unveiled a "dark web portal" designed to recruit spies from Russia and worldwide by offering a secure communication channel.

The agency stated that the "Silent Courier" portal enables anyone with access to sensitive information related to terrorism or hostile intelligence activities to securely make contact with UK authorities.

Detailed instructions for accessing the portal are available through the verified YouTube channel of the Secret Intelligence Service, commonly known as MI6.

Richard Moore, the outgoing MI6 chief, addressed potential spies during the portal's launch, stating, "Our virtual door is open to you."

The intelligence agency, which gained worldwide recognition through Ian Fleming's fictional character James Bond, recommends users employ the secure Tor browser for dark web access and use devices and email accounts not connected to their identities to avoid raising suspicions.

The advice, published in multiple languages, also suggests utilizing VPNs if Tor is prohibited in the user's country.

Foreign Minister Yvette Cooper remarked, "As the world changes, and the threats we're facing multiply, we must ensure the UK is always one step ahead of our adversaries."

She added, "Now we're bolstering their efforts with cutting-edge tech so MI6 can recruit new spies for the UK -- in Russia and around the world."

Moore has previously cautioned that his agency had "recently uncovered a staggeringly reckless campaign of Russian sabotage in Europe" amid escalating tensions over the Ukraine conflict.
