Fatal Crash of Russian Su-30 Fighter Jet in Karelia Claims Two Lives During Training Mission

A Russian Su-30 fighter aircraft crashed during a training exercise in the northwestern region of Karelia, resulting in the death of both crew members. According to reports from news agencies, the Russian Defence Ministry confirmed the fatal accident.

Karelia's regional governor, Artur Parfenchikov, stated via Telegram that the aircraft went down in a forested area. He confirmed there were no casualties reported on the ground as a result of the crash.

Governor Parfenchikov added that an investigation has been initiated to determine what caused the fighter jet to crash. The Su-30, a twin-engine multirole combat aircraft, was engaged in a routine training flight when the incident occurred.
