Netanyahu Stands With India: "Terror Cannot Shake Our Souls" Following Deadly Delhi Blast

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has extended his heartfelt condolences to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the victims of the Delhi blast that occurred Monday evening near the Red Fort.

In a statement shared on social media platform X, Netanyahu conveyed: "To our dear friend Narendra Modi and to the brave people of India: Sara and I, and the people of Israel, send our deepest condolences to the families of the victims. Israel stands strong with you in sorrow and in strength in this time."

Netanyahu emphasized the shared challenges both nations face, noting that while India and Israel are "ancient civilizations" confronted by terrorism, their resilient spirit remains unbroken. He stated, "India and Israel are ancient civilizations that stand on eternal truths. Terror may strike our cities, but it will never shake our souls. The light of our nations will outshine the darkness of our enemies."

The blast in India's capital has resulted in nine fatalities and left 20 people injured. According to sources, terrorists had planned to execute attacks in Delhi similar to the 2008 Mumbai attacks, targeting locations including the Red Fort, India Gate, Constitution Club, and Gauri Shankar Temple, along with railway stations and shopping malls across the country.

Pakistan-based organization Jaish-e-Mohammed had reportedly been organizing these attacks for months, planning to target not only Delhi but also surrounding areas in the National Capital Region, including Gurugram and Faridabad.

Currently, three doctors are among those detained as suspects: Shaheen Saeed, Muzammil Shakeel Ganale, and Adeel Rather. Dr. Umar Nabi is believed to have been the suicide bomber who perished in the November 10 explosion.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar also expressed his condolences on X, saying: "I extend my & Israel's deepest condolences to the People of India and especially to the families of the innocent victims killed in the blast at the heart of Delhi." Saar wished "speedy recovery" to those injured and reaffirmed Israel's solidarity with India in its "fight against terror."

Additionally, Israeli Ambassador to India Reuven Azar described the incident as "heartbreaking" while commending the efforts of rescuers and security forces. He posted: "Heartbreaking scenes in Delhi following the car blast, resulting in so many dead and injured. Our deepest condolences to the families of the victims. Wishing speedy recovery to those who survived. Praise for the rescuers & security forces."

The explosion has triggered a nationwide security alert across India.
