Berlin:
The European Union needs to pursue trade agreements with nations such as India to decrease dependencies, particularly as increased US tariffs are compelling the bloc to diversify its economic partnerships, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated on Thursday.
"We aim to finalize a trade deal with India this year," von der Leyen mentioned during a conference with German business leaders, noting that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had confirmed his dedication to achieving this objective during their telephone conversation on Wednesday.
"We are also engaged in negotiations with South Africa, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates and other countries," she further stated.
