Tesla CEO Elon Musk Announces Revolutionary Flying Car Prototype Coming Before Year-End

Musk's announcement has generated widespread interest regarding Tesla's upcoming innovation plans.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has announced his intention to unveil a flying car prototype before year-end, describing it as the most unforgettable product launch in history. This revelation came during his recent appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast last Friday.

The discussion began when Rogan inquired about the status of Tesla's repeatedly delayed second-generation Roadster, which was initially scheduled for release in 2020. After a thoughtful pause, Musk gradually shifted the conversation toward his latest ambitious project.

"We're getting close to..." Musk stated, taking a moment before continuing, "...demonstrating the prototype. One thing I can guarantee is that this product demo will be unforgettable."

Rogan, not immediately grasping that Musk was referring to a flying vehicle, asked how the demonstration would be unforgettable. With a laugh, Musk responded, "Whether it's good or bad, it will be unforgettable."

When pressed further, Musk referenced his longtime friend and fellow tech entrepreneur Peter Thiel. "Well, you know, my friend Peter Thiel once reflected that the future was supposed to have flying cars, but we don't have flying cars," said Musk. Thiel, Palantir's cofounder, has been Musk's close associate since their PayPal days.

As Rogan continued his inquiry, Musk provided stronger hints about his intentions. "I mean, I think if Peter wants a flying car, we should be able to buy one," he suggested, indicating Tesla might be working to transform this long-imagined concept into reality.

When directly asked if he was "actively considering making an electric flying car," Musk remained coy, telling Rogan he would need to wait for the demonstration to see for himself.

Rogan inquired whether the vehicle might feature a "retractable wing," but Musk declined to elaborate. "I can't do the unveil before the unveil," he stated, adding that he believed "it has a shot at being the most memorable product unveil ever."

Musk expressed his hope to showcase the flying car "before the end of the year," though he emphasized that his timeline remained tentative.

Describing the technology as "crazy," Musk added, "If you took all the James Bond cars and combined them, it's crazier than that."
