Flights connecting Sharjah to major Pakistani cities typically require between two and a half to three hours of travel time.
A resident of the UAE recently shared his astonishing experience where his uncle's flight successfully landed in Pakistan before he could even complete his drive home due to severe traffic congestion.
Instagram user Zarar Cheema documented this surprising situation in a video post. The footage shows Cheema immobilized in bumper-to-bumper traffic after dropping his relative at the airport. He captioned the video with the remarkable statement: "Dropped my uncle at the airport, he reached Pakistan. I didn't even reach Sharjah."
Air travel from Sharjah to Pakistan's main cities generally takes between 150-180 minutes: approximately 2 hours 30 minutes to Karachi, 2 hours 45 minutes to Lahore, and roughly 3 hours to reach Islamabad.

The video quickly gained traction online, attracting numerous comments.
One commenter asked in disbelief, "You mean he reached Karachi in Pakistan? That's literally a 1.5-2 hours flight."
Another viewer related to the experience: "I swear it actually happened to me once."
Someone else shared a similar story: "Happened with us, when I dropped my brother in law and his wife for umrah at Abu Dhabi airport, we didn't reach RAK but they reached their destination."
One commenter addressed the traffic issue directly: "It's true. Sometimes I spend 3 hours reaching Sharjah from Burj Al Arab. Maybe in future all this traffic problem will gone. I hope."
Another humorously noted: "You sent the 'reached home' message at the same time."
Earlier this month, Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) unveiled plans to implement an AI-powered traffic management system that aims to revolutionize driving in the city by 2028.
The innovative V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) network will establish direct connections between traffic signals and vehicles, providing drivers with real-time updates including signal countdowns, speed recommendations, congestion alerts, and accident warnings directly on their dashboards.
According to RTA officials, the system will utilize AI cameras and sophisticated analytics to monitor traffic, pedestrians, and cyclists in real time, enabling better signal timing adjustments and more effective congestion management.
