Indian Businessman Darshan Singh Sahsi Murdered by Lawrence Bishnoi Gang in Canada: Complete Investigation Details

An Indian-origin entrepreneur, Darshan Singh Sahsi, was fatally shot outside his residence in British Columbia, Canada.

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has officially claimed responsibility for the murder of Indian-origin industrialist Darshan Singh Sahsi in British Columbia. Gang member Goldy Dhillon posted on social media that Sahsi was targeted due to alleged involvement in drug trafficking and refusing to pay money to the gang. The Punjabi-Canadian businessman was killed outside his Abbotsford home on October 27 morning.

Darshan Singh Sahsi originated from Rajgarh village in Punjab's Ludhiana district. After immigrating to Canada in 1991, he initially worked various jobs before acquiring stakes in a struggling textile recycling company, Canam International, which he subsequently transformed into a global enterprise.

As president of Canam International, Sahsi led a globally recognized textile recycling company known for its transparency and sustainable business practices.

The company promotes a closed-loop, circular textile economy by reusing, downcycling, and mechanically recycling textiles. According to the company's website, they process approximately half a million pounds of textiles daily.

Many Punjabi-origin individuals worked at his company, and Sahsi maintained business operations in Gujarat's Kandla as well. He was also known for his active participation in social and philanthropic initiatives.

Initial investigation indicates that the assailant was waiting for Sahsi near his vehicle, which was parked roadside outside his residence.

When Sahsi entered his car, the shooter, positioned in another vehicle across the road, fired multiple shots before escaping.

Abbotsford Police Department received reports of the shooting at approximately 9:22 am and discovered Sahsi in critical condition upon arrival. First responders attempted life-saving measures, but they were unsuccessful.

During the incident, three nearby schools implemented a precautionary 'shelter-in-place' protocol, requiring everyone to remain indoors. No students were harmed.
