King Charles Confronted by Protester Over Prince Andrew's Epstein Connections During Cathedral Visit

King Charles encountered a vocal protester during his recent visit to Lichfield Cathedral in northwest England, near Birmingham, where he was greeting royal supporters.

While engaging with the public outside the cathedral, a man loudly challenged the monarch regarding Prince Andrew's connections to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. "How long have you known about Andrew and Epstein?" the protester called out as King Charles continued his walkabout.

This confrontation comes at a sensitive time for the royal family. Despite Prince Andrew's recent decision to relinquish his Duke of York title after years of scrutiny over his associations with Epstein, questions about the prince's behavior and the royal family's awareness have intensified.

Virginia Giuffre's posthumous memoir has reignited public backlash this month. Giuffre, who died by suicide in April, had previously accused Prince Andrew of sexually abusing her when she was a teenager—allegations the prince has consistently denied. In 2022, Andrew reached an undisclosed financial settlement with Giuffre to resolve the lawsuit she filed in the United States.

British law enforcement is currently investigating media reports claiming that in 2011, Prince Andrew requested one of his police officers to gather damaging information about Giuffre.

During Monday's incident, the protester also questioned: "Have you asked the police to cover up for Andrew? Should MPs be allowed to debate the royals in the House of Commons?"

King Charles appeared to ignore the protestor's remarks and continued interacting with other members of the public gathered at the cathedral.
