An 18-year-old Indian student enrolled at Middlesex University Dubai suffered a fatal cardiac arrest during Diwali celebrations. Vaishnav Krishnakumar collapsed suddenly during the festivities and was rushed to a nearby hospital where medical professionals declared him deceased.

Officials confirmed cardiac arrest as the cause of death. The Dubai Police Forensic Department has initiated an investigation to fully understand the circumstances of this tragic incident.

Authorities are currently coordinating efforts to repatriate his remains to Kerala for funeral services.

Family members noted that the teenager had no previously diagnosed heart conditions.

Who Was Vaishnav Krishnakumar?

Vaishnav Krishnakumar was an 18-year-old student originally from Chennithala, Alappuzha, Kerala. His parents, VG Krishnakumar and Vidhu Krishnakumar, have been Dubai residents for over two decades. Both Vaishnav and his younger sister, Vrishti Krishnakumar, were born and raised in the United Arab Emirates.

Family members in Kerala recall their most recent visit approximately two years ago for the housewarming ceremony of their new residence. A relative informed PTI: "They rarely visited Chennithala. The last time they came here was two years ago. Vaishnav and his sister were born and brought up in Dubai. He was a smart and intelligent boy with most of his friends there."

Krishnakumar was in his freshman year studying BBA in Marketing at Middlesex University Dubai. He had previously attended GEMS Our Own Indian School.

He held the prestigious UAE Golden Visa, a specialized long-term residence permit allowing foreigners to live, work, and study in the UAE for extended periods of 5 or 10 years without requiring local sponsorship.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Krishnakumar held prominent leadership positions in the Model United Nations (MUN). He served as President of the MUN Club after previously holding the Vice President role. Throughout his involvement, he chaired numerous MUN committees and received multiple accolades including Best Delegate and Best Chair awards.

He later gained professional experience through internships at Kendal and Uniplus in Dubai.
