51-Foot Lord Ram Statue Unveiled in Mississauga: North America's Tallest Hindu Monument Draws Visitors from Across the Continent

A magnificent 51-foot-tall statue of Lord Rama has been erected in Mississauga, Canada, establishing itself as the tallest monument dedicated to the Hindu deity across North America.

Created by distinguished artist Naresh Kumar Kumawat at the Matu Ram Art Center in Manesar, the impressive statue was shipped to Canada in separate components. American engineers later assembled the pieces at the designated location.

The impressive monument is constructed using fibreglass and steel, materials commonly utilized in aircraft production. The unveiling ceremony attracted not only members of the local community but also notable officials who recognized its cultural importance.

Distinguished political figures in attendance included Minister of Women and Gender Equality Recher Valdez, Treasury Board President Shafqat Ali, and International Trade Minister Maninder Sidhu.

Representatives from the Hindu Heritage Center, where the statue stands, reported growing visitor numbers from across the continent.

"We are experiencing significant attendance from places as distant as New York and New Jersey. People are journeying to visit the temple and behold the tallest Lord Rama statue in Canada," they mentioned.

Minister Sidhu expressed that establishing the largest Lord Rama statue in North America was "something to be very proud of."

Acharya Surinder Sharma Shastri, founder and chief priest of the center, stated, "The installation of this murti is not just a moment of pride. It is a spiritual gift to the community, a reminder that righteousness must always guide our path."

Kushagr Sharma, the event's principal organizer, shared, "Over 10,000 people come together in devotion and unity to unveil Shri Ram's 51-foot-tall murti," adding, "Not just a celebration of our faith, but a proud moment for all Canadians who value cultural harmony and spiritual heritage."

He highlighted that aircraft landing at Mississauga's Toronto Pearson International Airport fly low over the temple during descent, meaning the towering Ram statue will soon become one of the first landmarks welcoming arriving passengers.
