Apple CEO Tim Cook celebrated Diwali on Monday by sharing his warm wishes to millions observing the festival of lights worldwide. In his greeting, Cook showcased a remarkable image captured with the new iPhone 17 Pro Max by Mumbai-based photographer Apeksha Makar.
On X social media platform, Cook posted the captivating Diwali photograph with the message: "Wishing a joyful and healthy Diwali to all celebrating around the world! Thanks to Apeksha Maker for sharing this stunning photo taken on iPhone 17 Pro Max."
Apeksha Maker, co-founder of House of Pixels, has established herself as a celebrity photographer who specializes in bridging commercial and conceptual photography. She recommends iPhone users to "shoot as much as you can on the go" and take full advantage of the powerful camera technology available in their pockets.
According to Maker, the new iPhone 17 series excels at capturing life under various lighting conditions. She advises users to tap to focus and adjust exposure by holding the tap and moving a finger up or down to achieve optimal results.
Indian photography experts have also shared professional techniques for capturing Diwali's traditional diyas and candles on the iPhone 17 series without overexposing highlights. Photographer Bobby Roy highlights the Night Mode feature as an excellent tool for this purpose. "With 48MP HEIF MAX, try to bring out the fine textures of lights and festive decor by using the best quality that the iPhone 17 Pro/Pro Max provides. You can surely use the Portrait mode for that perfect soft, cinematic moments and pooja portraits," Roy explained.
Another expert, Porus Vimadalal, recommends zooming to 2x or 4x for portraits as this "naturally compresses the background and makes faces look more proportionally realistic and less distorted." He further advises users to "tap to focus, then pull exposure down a notch. Especially in bright settings, lowering exposure will add subtle highlights and give you that cinematic look."
The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max feature Apple's most advanced camera systems to date, with higher-resolution sensors on both front and back cameras – equivalent to having eight professional lenses in one's pocket. The devices include three 48MP Fusion cameras that capture sharper, more detailed images. A new 48MP Telephoto camera incorporates a next-generation tetraprism design with a sensor 56 percent larger than previous models, enhancing sharpness in bright conditions and delivering superior detail in darker environments.
