Allegations have surfaced against a Brazilian priest who reportedly concealed the fiancee of one of his congregation members underneath a bathroom sink within the rectory at the Church of Our Lady of Aparecida.

Rev. Luciano Braga Simplicio, who serves as the leader of Our Lady of Aparecida Parish located in Nova Maringa, Mato Grosso state, approximately 300 miles east of the Bolivian border, asserted that the 21-year-old woman was simply taking a shower, according to The New York Post.

According to witnesses, the shirtless priest secretly brought the woman into his residence while her fiance was away. The incident intensified when several angry parishioners forced the bathroom door open and discovered her huddled beneath the sink.

Wearing only gym shorts, the priest made several attempts to exit the room but was prevented from doing so and instructed to open a door behind which the crowd believed the missing fiancée was hiding.

TMZ reported that Rev. Simplicio attempted to justify his actions by claiming he allowed the woman to shower in the bathroom following a workout, describing it as an act of "kindness."

According to local blog Pelo Bem de Sao Jose, the priest allegedly brought the woman to the parish house early that same morning, fueling growing suspicions. While the exact duration of her stay remains unclear, witnesses believe it extended well beyond what would typically be required for using the facilities.

The unidentified woman was observed weeping on the floor. She was wearing only shorts and a tank top when pulled from under the vanity. Both the priest and the woman denied having any sexual relations.

The woman subsequently filed a police report, noting that the now-viral footage was inappropriately distributed after the incident.

The Diocese of Diamantino, which oversees Simplicio and Our Lady of Aparecida, has initiated an internal investigation into the priest's alleged conduct.

This investigation will determine whether Simplicio violated the 1983 Code of Canon Law, which prohibits Latin church priests from engaging in sexual or affective relationships.
