The Gaza peace summit is scheduled to take place on Monday afternoon.

US President Donald Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi will jointly chair a Gaza peace summit in Sharm el-Sheikh, as announced by the Egyptian presidency on Saturday.

The summit will commence on Monday afternoon and will feature "participation from leaders representing more than twenty countries," according to the statement.

This diplomatic gathering aims to "end the conflict in the Gaza Strip, strengthen efforts toward achieving peace and stability throughout the Middle East, and inaugurate a new era of regional security and stability."

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has confirmed his attendance, along with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez. French President Emmanuel Macron has also verified he will be present.

There has been no confirmation regarding the attendance of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, while Hamas has explicitly stated it will not participate in the summit.

Hamas political bureau member Hossam Badran informed AFP in an interview that the Palestinian militant group "will not be involved."

Badran noted that Hamas has "primarily worked through Qatari and Egyptian mediators" during previous Gaza negotiations.
