Russia has expressed its support for US President Donald Trump's candidature for the Nobel Peace Prize, according to Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov, as reported by state news agency TASS on Friday.
The winner of the 2025 prize was set to be announced at 0900 GMT, though seasoned observers of the award considered it highly unlikely that Trump would receive the honor.
Russia has repeatedly stated its appreciation for Trump's efforts to end the conflict in Ukraine.
