Russia Endorses Trump for Nobel Peace Prize: Kremlin's Support in Ukraine Peace Efforts

Russia has officially backed Donald Trump's candidature for the Nobel Peace Prize, citing his efforts to resolve the Ukraine conflict. Despite skepticism from award observers, the Kremlin expressed gratitude for Trump's peace initiatives, while Ukrainian President Zelensky stated Kyiv would nominate Trump if he successfully negotiated a ceasefire.

Russia has expressed its support for US President Donald Trump's candidature for the Nobel Peace Prize, according to Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov, as reported by state news agency TASS on Friday.

The winner of the 2025 prize was set to be announced at 0900 GMT, though seasoned observers of the award considered it highly unlikely that Trump would receive the honor.

Russia has repeatedly stated its appreciation for Trump's efforts to end the conflict in Ukraine.

In remarks published Thursday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky indicated that Kyiv would nominate Trump, who openly desires the prize, for the Nobel if he succeeded in bringing about a ceasefire.
