Nagpur:

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat stated on Thursday that the response of various nations following the Pahalgam terror attack revealed the true nature and depth of their friendship with India. During his address at the RSS's annual Vijaya Dashami rally, Bhagwat emphasized that India must remain vigilant, cautious, and strengthen its security measures.

"While we continue to foster friendly diplomatic relations with other nations, when it comes to our national security, we must exercise greater caution, vigilance, and strength. The reactions from different countries after the Pahalgam attack clearly demonstrated which nations are genuinely India's friends and to what extent," the RSS chief remarked at the event, which also commemorated the organization's centenary.

This observation appears to be directed at China, Turkey, and Azerbaijan – three countries that have consistently supported Pakistan in international forums following Operation Sindoor, including at the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Addressing Operation Sindoor, Bhagwat referenced how terrorists crossed the border into Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, killing 26 Indians after identifying their religion, which prompted a decisive response from India. "This incident caused immense grief and outrage throughout the country. Our government made thorough preparations and delivered a firm response. In the aftermath, we witnessed the leadership's determination, the bravery of our armed forces, and the unity of our society."

He noted that extremist elements have faced governmental action, while society has distanced itself from such groups after recognizing their "hollowness." "They will be controlled. A significant obstacle has now been removed in that region," the RSS chief stated.

Bhagwat also discussed the recent political unrest in Nepal that resulted in regime change. "Instability in neighboring countries is concerning," he said, referring to the Gen-Z protests in the Himalayan nation.

"The governmental changes in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and most recently Nepal, triggered by violent public demonstrations, are matters of concern for India. Forces seeking to create similar disturbances in Bharat are active both within and outside our borders... Violent uprisings achieve nothing constructive. They only lead to chaos and provide opportunities for foreign powers to interfere," he added.

Additionally, Bhagwat commented on the punitive tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump on Indian imports. "The tariff policies implemented by the United States were designed to serve their national interests. We need to prioritize swadeshi principles and focus on achieving self-reliance."

The RSS was established on Dussehra (September 27) in 1925 in Nagpur by Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, a physician from Maharashtra.
