BSF Troops in Jaisalmer Perform Traditional Shastra Pooja on Vijayadashmi Honoring Operation Sindoor Weapons

BSF soldiers conducted a sacred ritual honoring their weapons with Shakti mantras during Vijayadashmi celebrations.

The Border Security Force's 1055 Artillery Regiment stationed in Jaisalmer performed their traditional 'Shastra Pooja' ceremony on Vijayadashmi day.

During the ceremony, troops paid homage to their arsenal, including weapons that were deployed in Operation Sindoor, India's retaliatory action against Pakistan following the Pahalgam terrorist attack. The soldiers reverently offered flowers while reciting Shakti mantras, treating their firearms with the respect typically reserved for deities.

This annual tradition carried out by BSF personnel and officers positioned along the Indo-Pak border near Jaisalmer serves as a powerful message to Pakistan. It symbolizes that these weapons are not merely decorative but stand ready to counter hostile activities from across the border. These arms represent the BSF's honor, dignity, and military capability. The formal worship of these weapons by BSF Artillery 1055 is a significant ritual observed during Dusshera.

ML Garg, Inspector General of BSF Rajasthan Frontier, emphasized, "Weapon worship represents the worship of strength... the BSF has developed into the most experienced security force today. We possess the most effective expertise in utilizing current anti-drone technology, which has provided us a considerable tactical advantage. This capability proved invaluable during Operation Sindoor. Throughout the operation, our anti-drone systems functioned efficiently alongside the air defense systems deployed by the Indian Air Force and Army. Should similar situations arise in the future, we stand prepared with enhanced readiness."

Today, BSF personnel and border guards conducted the 'Shastra Pooja' along the Indo-Pak border. The ceremonial weapons were adorned with "tilak" and consecrated with coconuts. Patriotic chants of "Bharat Mata ki Jai" filled the air during the ceremony.

Battalion officers declared their readiness to execute 'Operation Sindoor-2' if circumstances require and the Indian government authorizes such action. The dedicated soldiers who maintain vigilance at the border under extreme weather conditions and challenging circumstances affirmed that their lives are committed to national security. The weapons worship tradition extends beyond cultural observance—it serves as a firm declaration of India's military capabilities to potential adversaries.
