World powers, including numerous Arab and Muslim nations, have welcomed Trump's new proposal to end the ongoing Gaza conflict.
US President Donald Trump has reshared Prime Minister Narendra Modi's supportive message regarding his new Gaza peace plan on his Truth Social platform, without adding any commentary of his own.
On Tuesday, PM Modi expressed support for Trump's 'Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict,' stating that it provides a feasible path toward long-term and sustainable peace for both Palestinian and Israeli populations.
"We welcome President Donald J. Trump's announcement of a comprehensive plan to end the Gaza conflict. It provides a viable pathway to long-term and sustainable peace, security, and development for the Palestinian and Israeli people, as also for the larger West Asian region," PM Modi wrote in his post on X.
"We hope that all concerned will come together behind President Trump's initiative and support this effort to end conflict and secure peace."
Trump's Gaza plan, which has received backing from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, outlines several key components: an immediate ceasefire, Hamas releasing all hostages within 72 hours, disarmament of Palestinian militants, and a gradual Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. Following these steps, a post-war transitional authority would be established under Trump's leadership.
The proposal has garnered support from various world powers, including Arab and Muslim nations. However, Hamas was still reviewing the terms and had not yet issued a formal response.
On Tuesday, President Trump delivered an ultimatum to Hamas, giving them "three or four days" to accept his peace plan "for their own good," warning of severe consequences if they refuse.
"We have one signature that we need, and that signature will pay in hell if they don't sign," Trump declared to US military leaders gathered at a base in Quantico, Virginia.
A Palestinian source, speaking anonymously, revealed that Hamas had begun internal consultations regarding the proposal, adding that "the discussions could take several days due to the complexities" involved.
