Princess Anne's Ukraine Visit: Royal Shows Solidarity With War-Affected Families and Veterans

Britain's Princess Anne, daughter of the late Queen Elizabeth, has undertaken a visit to Ukraine to demonstrate solidarity with families and children affected by the ongoing war, according to a statement from Buckingham Palace on Wednesday.

The 75-year-old royal, who celebrated her birthday in August, held discussions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy during her Tuesday visit to Kyiv. Their meeting covered topics including Britain's continued support for Ukraine amid the conflict.

During her visit, Princess Anne paid tribute at a memorial honoring children who have lost their lives since the conflict began in February 2022. She was joined by Ukraine's First Lady Olena Zelenska, and placed a toy as a symbol of remembrance.

The Princess Royal also engaged with Ukrainian children who have been displaced or deported by Russian forces. Additionally, she visited a rehabilitation center where she met with veterans returning from frontline service.

This royal visit follows that of her nephew Prince Harry, King Charles' younger son, who traveled to Kyiv earlier this month with representatives from his Invictus Games Foundation to showcase the charity's initiatives supporting rehabilitation of wounded Ukrainian soldiers.
