Following the brutal murder of an Indian national in Texas, President Trump vows strict action against illegal immigration.
Washington:
President Donald Trump has addressed the brutal killing of Chandra Nagamallaiah, an Indian man who was decapitated by an undocumented Cuban immigrant in Dallas, Texas last week. In his statement, Trump pledged to prosecute the perpetrator with "murder in the first degree" to the "fullest extent of the law" while emphasizing his administration's commitment to cracking down on illegal immigration and making "America safe again."
"I am aware of the terrible reports regarding the murder of Chandra Nagamallaiah, a well respected person in Dallas, Texas, who was brutally beheaded, in front of his wife and son, by an ILLEGAL ALIEN from Cuba who should have never been in our Country," Trump declared on his Truth Social platform.
The incident occurred on September 10, when 41-year-old Nagamallaiah was fatally attacked at the Downtown Suites motel on Samuell Boulevard in Dallas. Police arrested 37-year-old Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, charging him with capital murder after he allegedly decapitated Nagamallaiah and disposed of the victim's head in a trash container.
In his statement, Trump criticized the previous Biden administration for releasing Martinez, who has a documented criminal history, into the community despite his undocumented status.
"This individual was previously arrested for terrible crimes, including child sex abuse, grand theft auto, and false imprisonment, but was released back into our Homeland under incompetent Joe Biden because Cuba did not want such an evil person in their Country. Rest assured, the time for being soft on these Illegal Immigrant Criminals is OVER under my watch!" Trump stated.
The Horrific Killing
Surveillance footage from the Downtown Suites motel, which circulated widely on social media last week, captured Martinez violently attacking Nagamallaiah, the motel manager, with a machete while the victim's wife and 18-year-old son watched in horror.
The disturbing video documented Martinez pursuing Nagamallaiah with the machete, continuing the assault until decapitation occurred. After the attack, he kicked the victim's head across the motel parking area before eventually placing it in a dumpster.
On Friday, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has initiated proceedings for Martinez's "removal" from the United States.
DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughli criticized the previous administration in her statement, saying: "This gruesome, savage slaying of a victim at a motel by Yordanis Cobos-Martinez was completely preventable if this criminal illegal alien was not released into our country by the Biden Administration."
According to DHS information, Martinez had been detained at the Bluebonnet Detention Centre under ICE Dallas custody until January 13, 2025, when he was released on an Order of Supervision during the Biden administration.
