Fatal North Carolina Restaurant Shooting: 3 Dead, Multiple Injured as Boat-Based Gunman Attacks American Fish Company

A gunman opened fire from a watercraft at a North Carolina restaurant, resulting in at least three fatalities and multiple injuries before escaping the scene, according to local authorities.

The violent incident took place at approximately 9:30 p.m. Saturday at the American Fish Company, a well-known dining establishment located at 150 Yacht Basin Drive in Southport's yacht basin area, approximately 20 miles south of Wilmington.

Police reports indicate that at least seven individuals were shot during this attack, with three pronounced dead at the scene. The remaining victims were quickly transported to nearby medical facilities, though details regarding their medical status have not yet been disclosed by officials.

City Manager Noah Saldo verified that an assailant approached the restaurant by boat before firing into the gathered crowd and rapidly departing. "Multiple victims were transported to hospital," he stated, noting that casualty figures might change as emergency response efforts continue.

Local government officials have issued urgent advisories for residents to avoid the vicinity, remain indoors, and promptly report any suspicious activities by calling 911. An official statement acknowledged confirmed injuries while indicating that exact numbers remained uncertain.

"Please stay away from the area and shelter in place. Report any suspicious activity to 911 immediately," the statement emphasized.

The Brunswick County Sheriff's Office confirmed their cooperation with Southport Police Department in addressing the emergency situation. "Our office is providing assistance to Southport Police Department, alongside numerous law enforcement agencies throughout the county. Please keep all affected individuals and first responders in your thoughts and prayers," representatives from the sheriff's office communicated.

Emergency radio communications suggested potential additional casualties beyond those officially confirmed, though authorities have not yet verified these reports.
