Satirical Mount Rushmore of Controversial World Leaders Sparks Conversation at Bangkok Mall

A provocative art installation mimicking Mount Rushmore featuring Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, and Kim Jong Un has been unveiled at Bangkok's Seacon Square mall. The controversial display, part of a promotional event, has sparked varied reactions from visitors while the mall claims it was designed to stimulate conversation rather than convey a specific political message.

Satirical 'Mount Rushmore' Featuring Trump, Putin, Xi, And Kim Unveiled In Thailand Mall

A controversial art installation mimicking Mount Rushmore has been revealed at Bangkok's Seacon Square shopping mall, displaying former US President Donald Trump alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Unlike the original American monument celebrating democratic presidents, this satirical version brings together four controversial world leaders in a striking two-storey sculpture. The installation forms part of a promotional event called "Somewhere Else The Series - The Summit Camp," where visitors can enjoy rock climbing, archery, and other outdoor-themed activities.

Social media has been buzzing with images of the display, with one user sharing: "Bangkok, Thailand—A parody of the Mount Rushmore sculpture depicting Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, Kim Jong-un and Donald Trump in a shopping centre."

Seacon Square mall has developed a reputation for unusual exhibits, previously featuring a "Great Wall of China" replica and a "Noah's Ark" complete with live animals. However, this marks what appears to be the mall's first explicitly political installation.

"It's like a powerful statement, all of them together," remarked James Kumar, a 32-year-old Australian visitor, on Thursday.

The mall released a statement explaining that the concept "wasn't meant to deliver any single message—but to invite conversation."

American visitor Andrew Davis, identified by his partner as a Trump supporter, found the marketing approach humorous. However, he noted that such a display would create "a huge political drama" if exhibited in the United States, adding, "That's how divided the country is right now."

After two days on display, the installation had not yet prompted official responses from diplomats, though some shoppers questioned whether such a politically charged exhibit would remain for long.

"I'm surprised Seacon, which is a major Thai company—would let something this politically awkward be displayed here," commented a long-time British resident who identified himself as George.
