The World Health Organisation reported on Wednesday that eleven new confirmed cases of Ebola have been documented in the Democratic Republic of Congo since their previous update on September 15, indicating a declining trend in case numbers over the past week.
According to the WHO, as of September 21, Congo's Kasai Province has recorded a total of 57 cases, including 10 probable cases, with 35 deaths reported. Among these fatalities, 10 were classified as probable deaths.
"While the outbreak demonstrates a decreasing trend of cases in the recent week, vigilance remains at a high level," the UN health agency stated.
