The attack was carried out by 24-year-old Naveed Akram and his 50-year-old father, who opened fire on people gathered for the Jewish festival Hanukkah by the Sea celebration.
The violent incident resulted in the deaths of at least 15 individuals, including a 10-year-old child. Among the injured, five remain in critical condition, while two police officers who were hurt during the incident are reported to be in serious but stable condition.
