He Is Constantly Shaking Hands: White House On Trump's Bandaged Hand

US President Donald Trump has been observed with adhesive bandages on the back of his right hand recently, prompting questions about his health.

The White House spokesperson, Karoline Leavitt, addressed reporters' inquiries by explaining that the bandages are a result of the President's frequent handshaking activities.

"As for the bandages on the hand, we've already provided an explanation," Leavitt stated during a press briefing.

"The president is literally constantly shaking hands," she emphasized, adding that Trump "is also on a daily aspirin regimen, which is something his physical examinations has noted in the past as well, which can contribute to the bruise that you see."

This explanation mirrors a similar response given months earlier when observers noticed a bruise on Trump's right hand concealed by makeup.

At 79 years old, Trump is the oldest president ever elected in the United States. He has vigorously defended his physical condition, often contrasting his health with that of former President Joe Biden, whom Trump has suggested was experiencing cognitive decline toward the end of his presidency.

On Tuesday night, Trump took to his Truth Social platform with a lengthy message defending his health status. In the post, he characterized news organizations' investigations into his physical fitness as equivalent to "sedition, maybe even treason."

According to official records, Trump underwent a comprehensive medical examination in October, which included an MRI scan. His doctor subsequently reported that the president was in excellent health.
