Space and tech billionaire Elon Musk offered valuable advice to Indian entrepreneurs, encouraging them to focus on building useful products and services. He expressed his respect for anyone who aims to create more value than they consume.
During his appearance on Nikhil Kamath's People of WTF podcast, Musk stated, "I'm a big fan of anyone who wants to build. So, I think anyone who wants to make more than they take has my respect."
Musk emphasized that aspiring entrepreneurs should strive to be net contributors to society. He drew a parallel between pursuing money and pursuing happiness. "If you want to create something valuable financially, you don't pursue that. It's best to actually pursue providing useful products and services. If you do that, money will come as a natural consequence of that as opposed to pursuing money directly," he explained to Zerodha co-founder Kamath.
The Tesla and SpaceX CEO cautioned that entrepreneurship requires extreme dedication, warning that making a business successful demands "grinding super hard" while facing a "meaningful chance of failure." He advised, "Just be focused on having the output to be worth more than the input. That are you a value creator. That's what really matters."
Throughout the podcast, Musk also discussed other significant topics including the H1-B visa program, the contributions of Indians to the American ecosystem, the future role of Artificial Intelligence and robotics, and the introduction of Starlink in India.
