Four Assam Rifles soldiers sustained injuries following a militant attack on their patrol unit in Manipur's Tengnoupal district, situated along the India-Myanmar border, defense sources confirmed. The incident occurred today near border pillar No. 87 in proximity to Saibol village.

The wounded soldiers were immediately evacuated by air to a military medical facility in Leimakhong, according to police reports.

In an official statement, the Defence Ministry acknowledged that terrorists operating along the India-Myanmar border launched an assault on the Assam Rifles patrol this morning. The statement emphasized that the troops responded "with control and caution, keeping in view civilian safety."

The location of the attack, positioned near the porous border area in Tengnoupal district, has experienced persistent militant activity. In response to the ambush, security forces have enhanced area domination measures, initiated comprehensive search operations, and deployed additional personnel to secure the region and pursue the perpetrators.

Thus far, no insurgent organization has claimed responsibility for the attack.
