Imran Khan's Sister Reveals Family Denied Prison Visits for Over Four Weeks Amid Health Concerns and Death Rumors

Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan's sister Noreen Niazi has revealed that family members have been denied access to visit him in Adiala Jail for over four weeks, raising serious concerns about his wellbeing. Amid circulating death rumors, Niazi describes unprecedented police brutality against supporters and claims Khan is being held in isolation against prison regulations. While jail authorities maintain Khan is in good health, his family remains without confirmation as protests grow outside the prison.

Amid Imran Khan's Death Rumours, His Sister Says 'We Don't Know Anything'

Noreen Niazi, sister of imprisoned former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, has expressed deep concern over her brother's unknown condition in jail, revealing that authorities have denied family visitations for over four weeks.

In an interview with ANI, Niazi highlighted the severe treatment the cricketer-turned-politician is enduring, claiming officials are deliberately withholding information about his wellbeing and preventing access to him.

"We don't know anything. They are not telling us anything, nor are they letting anybody meet him. His party's people went there because they had a meeting scheduled, but they were not allowed inside. We have not been allowed to meet him for the last four weeks. We got to know that news was circulating in India that he had been killed," she stated.

Niazi strongly criticized the Pakistani establishment, alleging police have been given unrestricted authority to deal with Imran Khan's supporters. She condemned what she described as unprecedented police brutality, claiming officers have been permitted to "beat up" citizens regardless of age or gender without facing consequences.

"The police have been ordered to stop us and, I believe, also permitted to do to us whatever they want. This has never happened in Pakistan before. No one has ever disrespected women like this, nor has anyone been oppressed this way. This is the first time in Pakistan that these people have been allowed to beat up people like there won't be any consequences, without considering if it's a child, an elderly person, or a woman in front of them. The world is aware of what's happening in Pakistan," she asserted.

Recently, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi visited Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail, where Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi are being held on various corruption charges. The Chief Minister joined PTI lawmakers and supporters protesting outside the prison over growing concerns about Khan's health, particularly after Aleema Khan, another of Imran's sisters, was denied permission to visit him.

Although rumors of Khan's death circulated in media reports, Adiala Jail administration dismissed these claims on Wednesday, stating the former Prime Minister remains in custody and in good health.

Regarding her last meeting with her brother, Niazi recalled that Imran Khan was previously kept in isolation for nearly three weeks last year without electricity. She emphasized this violated the prison manual, which limits isolation periods to a maximum of four days, and alleged he is currently receiving similar treatment.

"He is going through a tough time alone. He is in isolation. As per the jail manual, one can't be placed in isolation for more than four days. But he was put in isolation for three weeks last year as well, during which electricity was switched off during summer, and he wasn't even allowed to read books. The same has been done now. No one knows what's happening inside the jail. This is the pinnacle of oppression," Niazi explained.

She expressed solidarity with all "poor and innocent" prisoners facing similar conditions and warned of potential public resistance against these practices.

"I believe there will be a spark among people soon, and they will see the level to which the people go. They have oppressed us so much. I worry about my brother, but I also worry about the poor and innocent people who are in jails," Niazi concluded.
