Former Congress MP Alleges CIA and Mossad Engineered Party's 2014 Electoral Defeat

Former journalist and Congress MP Kumar Ketkar claims that the CIA and Israel's Mossad intelligence agencies orchestrated the Congress party's dramatic defeat in India's 2014 elections, reducing their seats from 206 to 44. Speaking at a Constitution Day event, Ketkar alleged these agencies gathered detailed constituency data and interfered to prevent Congress from returning to power, suggesting the electoral outcome did not reflect the true will of Indian voters.

CIA, Mossad Engineered Congress Defeat In 2014, Says Party's Former MP

New Delhi:

Former Congress MP Kumar Ketkar has made a startling claim that the United States intelligence agency CIA and Israel's Mossad orchestrated the Congress party's defeat in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

Speaking at a Constitution Day event organized by the Congress, Ketkar, who previously worked as a journalist, highlighted a peculiar electoral pattern. He noted that Congress had secured 145 seats in the 2004 Lok Sabha elections, which increased to 206 seats in the subsequent general election.

Following this trajectory, Ketkar suggested that Congress should have won approximately 250 seats in 2014, allowing them to retain power decisively. Instead, the party's representation plummeted dramatically to just 44 seats.

"This is when the strategic interference began. Certain organizations determined that Congress should not increase its seat count from 206 in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections," Ketkar asserted.

"Among these organizations were the CIA and Israel's Mossad. They had concluded that action needed to be taken in India. Their concern was that if a stable Congress government or Congress-led coalition returned to power, their ability to intervene in Indian affairs and implement their preferred policies would be severely limited," he claimed.

Ketkar further alleged that these intelligence agencies sought to establish a government in New Delhi that would be susceptible to their influence, preferably with a majority but explicitly not led by Congress.

"Mossad prepared comprehensive constituency and state-level data. Both CIA and Mossad possess detailed information about Indian states and electoral constituencies," Ketkar maintained.

While acknowledging public dissatisfaction with then-Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in 2014, Ketkar argued that this discontent alone was insufficient to explain Congress's precipitous decline from 206 seats to 44, which left the party without enough representatives to claim the Leader of Opposition position.

"This outcome did not accurately reflect the will of the Indian people," Ketkar insisted.

He also claimed that the British had historically hoped for India's fragmentation along the lines of Balkanization.
