A neighbor spotted the deceased woman in a parked vehicle and promptly contacted authorities.

New Delhi:

In Southwest Delhi's Chhawla area, a dispute over alcohol consumption turned deadly when a 35-year-old man, Virendra Singh, killed his 44-year-old live-in partner during a heated nighttime argument.

After committing the crime, the perpetrator placed the victim's body in his automobile, attempted unsuccessfully to drive away to dispose of the remains, then returned to his residence and fell asleep.

The following morning, a neighbor who had assumed the couple was married discovered a female body inside a parked Swift vehicle and alerted law enforcement.

When police officers arrived at the scene, they found the deceased woman in the back seat with noticeable facial injuries and scratches.

According to police reports, the victim and Virendra, a Najafgarh resident, had been cohabiting for two years. Though already married with children, Virendra had purchased a three-story home in Chhawla this past August, financing it with proceeds from selling the victim's previous Palam residence.

An additional sum of Rs 21 lakh from that property sale remained in Virendra's possession, frequently causing disputes between the pair.

During interrogation, Virendra admitted to the homicide. He stated that the altercation began when his partner attempted to prevent him from consuming alcohol. In a rage-fueled moment, he strangled her with his elbow, resulting in her death.

Following the murder, Virendra contacted two acquaintances—a male and a female—who assisted him in transporting the victim's body to the car.

These individuals departed shortly afterward. Virendra then tried to drive away to dispose of the body, but his severe intoxication limited his ability to travel far. After driving merely 100 meters, he abandoned the effort. He returned home, left the deceased in the vehicle, went back upstairs, continued drinking, and eventually passed out.

When authorities arrived at the location, they found Virendra still asleep and immediately took him into custody. Police are currently searching for the two individuals who allegedly aided him in moving the body.
