PM Modi's Shoutout To Gen Z: "Creativity, Positive Attitude And Ability"

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Skyroot Aerospace's Infinity Campus in Hyderabad today through video conferencing, marking a significant milestone for India's space sector.

During the ceremony, PM Modi emphasized the pivotal contribution of India's Gen-Z in transforming the nation's space industry. He observed that whenever new opportunities arise in India, the younger generation, particularly Gen-Z, responds with enthusiasm and prioritizes national interests above all else.

The Prime Minister shared his thoughts while virtually launching the state-of-the-art facility, describing it as "a significant leap forward for India's space sector and its future."

In his address, PM Modi highlighted the remarkable growth of India's private space sector, noting that over 300 space startups are now propelling the country's space ambitions. He reflected on how many of these ventures began with just a small group of young visionaries operating from modest rented spaces with limited resources but boundless determination.

"This spirit has given birth to the private space revolution in India," the Prime Minister stated. He emphasized that young engineers, designers, programmers, and scientists are now developing sophisticated technologies in previously unattainable fields for Indian startups, including propulsion systems, composite materials, rocket components, and satellite platforms.

PM Modi connected the space sector's rapid advancement to the broader startup revolution occurring throughout India. He noted that over the past decade, young innovators, especially Gen-Z, have been creating innovative solutions across various domains including FinTech, AgriTech, HealthTech, ClimateTech, EduTech, and DefenceTech.

The Prime Minister praised Gen-Z for their "creativity, positive attitude and ability" to build capacities, suggesting they serve as inspiration for young people globally.

Highlighting India's emergence as the world's third-largest startup ecosystem, PM Modi mentioned that the country now boasts more than 150,000 registered startups, including numerous unicorns. He observed that startup culture has expanded beyond major urban centers to include smaller towns and villages, demonstrating the growing reach and confidence of India's youth.

During the virtual event, PM Modi also unveiled Skyroot's first orbital rocket, Vikram-I, which is designed to launch satellites into orbit. The company's newly inaugurated Infinity Campus features approximately 200,000 square feet of workspace dedicated to designing, developing, integrating, and testing multiple launch vehicles, with the capacity to construct one orbital rocket monthly.

Skyroot Aerospace, founded by former ISRO scientists and IIT graduates Pawan Chandana and Bharath Dhaka, has established itself as India's leading private space company. The firm made history in November 2022 when it launched its sub-orbital rocket Vikram-S, becoming the first Indian private company to achieve this milestone.
