The father of the survivor in the Kasba Law College gang rape case has filed a police complaint stating that unknown individuals on a motorcycle threatened him and demanded he withdraw the case, according to a senior police officer's Wednesday statement.

The complaint was submitted to Baruipur police, who have launched an investigation into the matter.

Investigators were told by the survivor's father that he was unable to identify the men who allegedly made the threat.

A first-year student at South Calcutta Law College had reported to police that she was gang-raped inside the institution by an alumnus and two senior students on the evening of June 25.

The crime was reported two months after the incident, following which investigating officers filed a chargesheet against four accused. All defendants are currently free on bail, with the trial expected to begin soon.
