US-Based Indian Devotee Donates Rs 9 Crore for Major Renovation Project at Tirupati Temple

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams serves as the guardian of the Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Tirupati, widely regarded as the wealthiest Hindu shrine globally.

On Wednesday, TTD chairman B R Naidu announced that an Indian devotee residing in the United States made a generous donation of Rs 9 crore to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams.
The benefactor, M Ramalinga Raju, allocated these funds specifically for renovating the PAC-1, PAC-2, and PAC-3 buildings at the temple complex.
Naidu shared this news on social media platform X, stating, "Another great donation to TTD. M Ramalinga Raju donated Rs 9 crore for the renovation of PAC-1, 2 and 3 buildings." He also mentioned that this wasn't Raju's first major contribution, as he had previously donated Rs 16 crore in 2012.
The TTD chairman expressed gratitude on behalf of the temple administration for this substantial contribution aimed at enhancing facilities for devotees. He conveyed his wishes that Lord Venkateswara would bestow blessings upon Raju and hoped that such generous support would continue in the future.
Raju clarified that he made the donation on behalf of his daughter Nethra and son-in-law Vamsi Gadiraju specifically to upgrade the PAC buildings. He expressed appreciation to the TTD for providing him the opportunity to contribute to the temple's development.
The donor also shared his deep personal connection to Tirupati, revealing that he has family ties to three former TTD chairmen who hailed from West Godavari district. Raju mentioned that G Rangaraju and V Kanaka Raju, both former TTD chairmen, are his grandfathers, while another former chairman, K Bapi Raju, who was also a Congress politician, is his uncle.
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, which oversees the renowned Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Tirupati, is recognized as the world's richest Hindu temple administration.
