Following this, a bidding competition takes place until the final results are announced at 5 pm on Wednesday. The entire auction process is conducted online through the official fancy.parivahan.gov.in portal.

During this week's auction, the registration number 'HR88B8888' attracted the highest interest, receiving 45 applications in total. Bidding began at the base price of Rs 50,000 and continued to increase steadily until reaching the final amount of Rs 1.17 crore at 5 pm.

Understanding HR88B8888: This unique VIP vehicle number was purchased at a premium through the bidding system.

The "HR" code designates that the vehicle is registered in Haryana.

The "88" indicates the specific Regional Transport Office (RTO) or district within Haryana where the vehicle registration took place.

The letter "B" serves as the vehicle series code within that particular RTO.

The "8888" represents the unique four-digit number assigned to the vehicle.

What makes this number plate particularly special is its visual appeal, as it appears to be a sequence of eights, with the uppercase 'B' resembling the number eight, creating a striking pattern of repeated digits.

Earlier this year in April, tech billionaire Venu Gopalakrishnan from Kerala purchased a VIP license plate "KL 07 DG 0007" for his Lamborghini Urus Performante at Rs 45.99 lakh. The bidding for this plate started at Rs 25,000 but quickly escalated to the final record-breaking price.

The '0007' number, reminiscent of James Bond's famous code, adds an exclusive touch that reinforced Gopalakrishnan's position in Kerala's luxury automobile community.
