Meerut Murder: Jailed Woman Who Killed Husband Names Newborn Daughter Radha as In-Laws Demand DNA Test

A woman imprisoned in Meerut for murdering her husband and hiding his dismembered body in a cement-filled blue drum has given birth to a daughter named Radha on what would have been her husband's birthday. The in-laws are demanding DNA tests for both children, claiming they will only take responsibility if proven to be their son's biological offspring. Police allege Muskan planned the murder with her lover Sahil Shukla after her husband became an obstacle to their relationship.

Meerut 'Blue Drum' Killer Names Newborn Radha, In-Laws Demand DNA Test

The family of Saurabh Rajput has expressed concerns about Muskan, describing her as "very sharp-minded" and potentially dangerous to the children's wellbeing.

Meerut (UP):

Muskan, currently incarcerated in Meerut jail for the brutal murder of her husband Saurabh Rajput whose body was concealed in a blue drum, has named her newborn daughter Radha. Meanwhile, her in-laws are requesting a DNA test for the child, according to officials' statements on Wednesday.

The baby was delivered at Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College on November 24, coincidentally on what would have been Saurabh's birthday.

Dr. Shagun, who heads the hospital's gynaecology department, confirmed that Muskan would return to the district jail on Wednesday.

According to Jail Superintendent Viresh Raj Sharma, the infant may remain with her mother in the women's section until she reaches six years of age. The jail administration will provide necessary items including clothing, nutritional supplements, and healthcare for the baby.

Saurabh's brother Rahul mentioned that he had previously requested a DNA test and plans to submit another formal request to the court for the same.

He alleged that Muskan collaborated with her lover Sahil Shukla to murder Saurabh and conceal his remains in a blue drum filled with cement.

Rahul also requested DNA testing for Muskan's elder daughter, stating that the Rajput family would only assume responsibility for both children if they were proven to be Saurabh's biological offspring.

Otherwise, he indicated they would maintain "no relation" with either Muskan or her newborn.

He further claimed that Muskan's cunning nature could pose risks to the children's safety.

Saurabh's mother, Renu Rajput, supported this position, stating the family would only welcome the newborn if confirmed to be Saurabh's child.

Addressing accusations that Muskan "planned" to deliver on Saurabh's birthday, hospital officials dismissed these claims as unfounded.

"The expected delivery date is merely an estimate, and only a small percentage of women deliver on any specific day," Dr. Shagun explained, emphasizing that the timing of labor was natural and "could not have been planned."

Jail officials revealed that Muskan had intended to name the child Krishna if she had given birth to a boy.

Saurabh was killed on March 4 at his residence in Indiranagar, Meerut.

According to police investigations, Muskan and Sahil drugged Saurabh, fatally stabbed him, and subsequently dismembered his body before placing the remains in a cement-filled blue drum.

The pair allegedly escaped to Himachal Pradesh following the murder.

Investigators claim that Muskan had been orchestrating the murder since November 2023, and that Saurabh was killed because he interfered with her relationship with Sahil.
