New Delhi:

According to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), PM Modi will utilize Arunachal Pradesh's substantial hydroelectric potential by laying foundation stones for two major hydropower projects valued at over Rs 3,700 crore in Itanagar.

The Prime Minister's September 22 visit will include laying foundation stones for multiple development initiatives worth over Rs 5,100 crore at Itanagar, followed by addressing a public gathering. Subsequently, he will travel to Tripura where he will perform puja and 'darshan', and inaugurate the development work of the 'Mata Tripura Sundari Temple Complex' at Matabari.

In Arunachal Pradesh, the Prime Minister will initiate two significant hydropower projects - the Heo Hydro Electric Project (240 MW) and Tato-I Hydro Electric Project (186 MW), with a combined value exceeding Rs 3,700 crore. Both projects will be developed within the Siyom sub-basin of Arunachal Pradesh.

Additionally, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art Convention Centre in Tawang. Positioned at an elevation of over 9,820 feet in Tawang's frontier district, this facility will serve as a landmark venue for national and international conferences, cultural festivals, and exhibitions.

The Convention Centre, designed to accommodate over 1,500 delegates, will comply with global standards and enhance the region's tourism and cultural potential.

The Prime Minister will also launch multiple key infrastructure projects worth over Rs 1,290 crore, spanning various sectors including connectivity, health, fire safety, and working women's hostels. These initiatives aim to stimulate economic activity, improve quality of life, and enhance regional connectivity.

In alignment with his vision to ensure ease of doing business and nurture a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem, PM Modi will engage with local taxpayers, traders, and industry representatives to discuss the impact of recent GST rate rationalization.

During his Tripura visit, consistent with his commitment to promote and preserve India's spiritual and cultural heritage, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the development work of the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple Complex at Matabari under the Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Heritage Augmentation Drive (PRASAD) scheme.

This temple is one of the ancient 51 Shakti Peethas located in Udaipur town of Gomati district in Tripura. Designed to resemble a tortoise when viewed from above, the project includes modifications to the temple premises, new pathways, renovated entrances and fencing, drainage system, and a new three-storied complex featuring stalls, meditation hall, guest accommodations, and office rooms.

The development is expected to significantly boost tourism, create employment and business opportunities, and contribute to the overall socio-economic development of the region.
