Toddler On Roof, SUV Drives For 10 Km After Hitting Bike In Madhya Pradesh

A one-and-a-half-year-old toddler was carried for approximately 10 kilometers on the roof of a speeding Scorpio SUV following a collision with a motorcycle transporting the child and his family members in Madhya Pradesh. The impact caused the motorcycle driver and a female passenger to fall onto the road while the toddler was propelled onto the vehicle's roof. Despite this, the SUV driver allegedly continued driving without stopping.

The incident occurred around 7 PM on Monday evening in Bahera Dabar village in Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh. Umesh was operating the motorcycle with his sister-in-law Munni Saket and her young son Suraj Saket as passengers when they were struck by the fast-moving Scorpio. The collision was so powerful that little Suraj was thrown upward before landing on the SUV's roof.

Rather than stopping to provide assistance, the vehicle continued traveling with the child positioned precariously on top. Concerned villagers who witnessed the incident began pursuing the SUV on motorcycles while simultaneously alerting police about the situation and providing details about the Uttar Pradesh-registered vehicle. Law enforcement quickly assembled multiple teams to locate the vehicle and rescue the child.

After traveling some distance, the SUV occupants reportedly pulled the child into the vehicle and subsequently transported him to a Community Health Centre (CHC). The medical staff notified authorities, which led to the child being located. Suraj has sustained injuries to his head and body and is currently receiving medical treatment.

The child's mother and uncle are receiving care at the district hospital in Sidhi. Medical reports indicate that all three injured individuals are in stable condition.

District Superintendent of Police Sujit Kumar Kadwe strongly criticized the driver's actions, describing the "negligence" as a "disgrace to humanity." Law enforcement has registered a case and continues searching for both the Scorpio vehicle and its driver.
