In Kota, a tragic incident occurred when a 21-year-old NEET candidate reportedly fell from a moving train near Rajasthan's Keshoraipatan railway station on Monday night, as confirmed by police officials on Tuesday.

According to police reports, Deepak Kumar from Patna, Bihar, was studying for NEET at a coaching facility in Kota while residing in a hostel located in Indra Colony.

His sister, also preparing for the same examination, was staying at a separate female student accommodation, authorities noted.

Circle Inspector Hansraj stated that Deepak and his sister boarded a train departing from Kota railway station around 11:45 pm on Monday for their hometown.

While his sister was sleeping, he visited the restroom and is believed to have accidentally slipped from the doorway near Khedi railway gate, resulting in a fall onto the railway tracks, the officer explained.

Railway personnel and Government Railway Police (GRP) discovered him critically injured beside the tracks at approximately 5 am on Tuesday and transported him to MBS Hospital in Kota, where he subsequently died during medical treatment, Inspector Hansraj reported.

His sister realized he was missing upon reaching Mathura, where they had planned to transfer to another train bound for Patna.

After repeatedly calling him without response, she alerted GRP officials and railway staff about the situation, the inspector added.

The investigating officer dismissed suicide as a possibility, indicating that preliminary evidence suggests an accidental fall. Authorities have registered a case to determine the precise cause of death.

Following post-mortem procedures, the body was released to his sister and a relative, police confirmed.

According to Deepak's hostel warden, he left his accommodation around 8:30 pm on Monday without mentioning any travel plans.
