Karachi:

A tragic accident in Pakistan's Sindh province has claimed the lives of three children between the ages of 8 and 12. The incident occurred when a rocket propellant they were playing with suddenly exploded in Kashmore district, according to police statements released on Monday.

The fatal explosion took place near Kandhkot town. The children had reportedly discovered the propellant in fields adjacent to their village and began playing with the unfamiliar object.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Syed Asghar Ali Shah provided details, explaining that the colored propellant detonated when the boys handled it during their play.

"According to villagers, the boys were from the same tribe and were playing together in the nearby fields," he stated.

"Our preliminary assessment indicates it was a solid propellant, capable of storing fuel or explosive materials for extended periods," the officer added.

Authorities have engaged the bomb disposal squad to examine the recovered fragments of the propellant for further investigation.

Police suspect the rocket propellant may have been abandoned by dacoits who are known to operate along the riverbeds in Kashmore district.
