320 Maoist Cadres Killed in 11 Months: Internal Report Reveals Organizational Crisis and Security Operation Impact

The Maoist's Central Committee has reported that 320 of its cadres have been killed nationwide over the past 11 months, revealing the extensive casualties the organization has suffered during intensified security operations.

In a comprehensive 17-page document, Maoist leadership disclosed that between December 2024 and November 2025, their forces lost eight Central Committee members, 15 State Committee members, and numerous mid-level commanders. Additionally, 25 district committee-level cadres, 73 area committee members, 116 general party members, 13 PLGA fighters, and 33 local Jan Nirman members were killed.

The organization identified the death of its Politburo member and General Secretary Basava Raju as a significant blow. According to their records, the 320 casualties included 187 men and 117 women, while information on 20 others remains incomplete.

Regionally, the committee acknowledged 22 cadres killed in Bihar-Jharkhand, 33 in Odisha, six in the Maharashtra-Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh border area, eight in Telangana, six in the Andhra-Odisha border region, and a substantial 243 in south Bastar's Dandakaranya region, historically a Maoist stronghold.

The organization lacks information regarding the status of 37 cadres.

The Maoists also alleged that two senior leaders they labeled as "traitors" – Bhupati and Satish – facilitated the surrender of 299 cadres, further weakening their network.

Following the publication of this Maoist document, Chhattisgarh Police stated that the organization's own admission confirms its deep crisis, internal divisions, and rapid decline. Police emphasized that losing 243 cadres in the Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee alone within just 11 months demonstrates how severely the group's operational capacity and ideological unity have deteriorated.

Bastar Range Inspector General Sundarraj Pattalingam affirmed the state government's dedication to implementing inclusive development and lasting peace. He noted that rapid improvements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, livelihoods, welfare programs, and connectivity are transforming remote areas that had been deprived of basic services for decades due to Maoist interference.

Villages previously living in fear, according to Pattalingam, are now embracing progress with confidence, hope, and a strong desire for peace.

On the government's behalf, Sundarraj urged all Maoist members, whether from PLGA units, local structures, or higher leadership positions, to abandon violence, surrender, and rejoin mainstream society, assuring them of dignity, safety, rehabilitation, and opportunities for a new beginning. He emphasized that the path to reform "will always remain open" for those genuinely seeking to return.
