8-Year-Old Boy Killed in Tragic Accident Caused by Underage Driver in Gurugram

Gurugram:

An eight-year-old boy lost his life after being struck by a car in Gurugram, according to police reports on Saturday. The vehicle, operated by an underage driver, dragged the child approximately 20 meters before stopping, as stated by a police officer.

Following the incident, bystanders assaulted the minor driver before turning him over to authorities.

The tragic event occurred around 7 pm on Friday when Yuhan (8) was standing with his father, Ashwani Kumar, a Krishan Kunj, Bhondsi resident, near a medical clinic, police reported.

In his statement, Kumar mentioned that the speeding vehicle hit Yuhan and dragged him several meters away, authorities added.

Kumar and others urgently transported critically injured Yuhan to a private Gurugram hospital where medical staff pronounced him deceased.

The underage driver, who also suffered injuries during the incident, received medical attention at the same facility, police noted.

Officials confirmed they released the victim's body to family members following Saturday's postmortem examination. The vehicle has been seized as investigations continue, the officer stated.
